Disregard the past reviews! I enjoyed my visit to Blackhawks tavern. The service was great and the food was pretty decent. I just got the spinach artichoke dip, sweet potato fries, and capital amber of course. All three were tasty. The menu isn't super big, which is nice and isn't anything fancy, but it's easy to make a decision. The bar and dining room have a vintage feel. The bar is pretty big and easy to sit at if you still want eat. If you're in town, check it out!

This place is not about the food. You should have a few drinks and kill your taste buds and you won't notice how bad the food really is.

Gross. I'm all for supporting local spots, but the food was horrible. First of all, the side salad was ALL iceberg lettuce and what looked like grated processed American cheese. Then even though I had asked for my burger medium, it came really well done with no lettuce, onions, or anything on it except for cheese. And my gin and tonic was mostly tonic...I couldn't taste any gin at all. The waitress was also incredibly ditsy. She didn't know how to answer some of the questions and seemed kind of "out of it". She forgot to bring us silverware the first time around and didn't seem to know the options on the menu at all. Definitely would not go back.

The staff are the only good thing about this place.

Great location right on the main drag in Fort Atkinson. Outdoor seating right off the sidewalk on Main. First time here although I've driven by a few times on trips and always wanted to stop. My family and I were immediately greeted by the sharp looking female bartender and were told to sit wherever we wanted. Even though it was after the normal lunch time, most tables were occupied, which is a good sign. Waitress was very nice and attentive. I had the tenderloin burger special for $7.50 and it was very moist and cooked to perfection with a generous slab of cheese. The homemade chips were mostly good except a couple were soggy. Nice relaxed ambiance with several large flat screen TV's hanging around. I would visit again.
